Infant & Toddler Program
6 MONTHS – 23 MONTHS
Trusting relationships are at the core of high quality care for infants, toddlers, and two year old children. For this reason, at KTCC, children do not move from one group to another based on birthdays or any particular milestones. We maintain the child-family-teacher relationship by moving children from one classroom to another in mid-August with at least one of their Primary Teachers. The group of children with their Teacher(s) will move together, the group size will increase slightly and as a couple of new children join the group. We do this until children go to a preschool classroom, around the age when their focus tends to shift to interacting with peers. When children move to a preschool classroom, groups may not move to the same room.

Preschool Program
2 ½ TO 3 YEARS
Our Young Preschool Program is based on learning through play. Children work through developmentally-appropriate individual and group activities.
Learning through play encourages large and small muscle development to help your child grow.
We also focus on communication skills (both speaking and listening) and problem-solving techniques. These are learned through our play-based activities as well as casual interactions with teachers and other students.
Children are encouraged to talk to each other about conflict and problems. Some children at this age may be shy or choose to watch at the boundaries of an activity. We create space for individual differences in levels of activity.
Independence is encouraged through self-directed (free choice) activities and self-help during routine activities such as eating, toileting, etc. Your child begins to gain freedom while under the watchful eye of our professional child care teachers. We are ready to support and assist in your child’s ongoing development.
2.5 Years - 3 Years
Before & After School Program
K-6 GRADE
Kiddie Time knows that the school schedule is not always conducive to your work schedule. That’s why we have continued with our traditional home away from home feel and made it available for children that require before and after school care with extended hours, we open at four in the morning and stay open until eleven at night.
K- 6 Grade
The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is Michigan’s state-funded preschool program for four-year-old children with factors which may place them at risk of educational failure. The program is administered by the Michigan Department of Education, Office of Great Start. Funding is allocated to each intermediate school district to administer the program locally. The child has to be four years old on or before September 1 in that calendar year.
Research on preschool programs and specific research on GSRP indicate that children provided with a high-quality preschool experience show significant positive developmental differences when compared to children from the same backgrounds who did not attend a high-quality preschool program. Our high scope curriculum is carried out by a lead and associate teacher who is educated, trained and monitored using a Program Quality Assessment. Children and families really enjoy our staff engagement through family nights, home visits and conferences. Graduation ceremony each spring gives each child a feeling of excitement and accomplishment for their final year of preschool.
